Stephen Malkmus of Pavement and Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks and Stephen Malkmus (among others), Emmett Kelly of the Cairo Gang (among others), Matt Sweeney of Chavez (among others), and Jim White of Dirty Three (among others) have united for a new group called The Hard Quartet. Not much information on the supergroup is known, but Malkmus confirmed the news with a rather straightforward Instagram post, which you can investigate for yourself below.
“EMMETT KELLY, STEPHEN MALKMUS, MATT SWEENEY & JIM WHITE are THE HARD QUARTET @thehardquartet,” the caption reads. As is apparent from the similarities between our post and Malkmus’, we heard the news from him. You, however, have heard it here first (maybe).
