In case you missed it, Cigarettes After Sex returned with their first new record in five years earlier this month, with X’s picking up where Cry left off in honing Greg Gonzalez’s black-and-white vision for the slowcore-inspired dream-pop project. In case you also missed this, we spent some time with Gonzalez to get to the bottom of his obsession with the B&W aesthetic, as well as to chart his band’s incredible rise from shows played to empty rooms to sold-out tours all over the world after his music caught fire on YouTube in the mid-’10s.
