mxmtoon has returned with a new single entitled “i hate texas.” Writing this blog post from the titular state, I must say, I think she’s wrong to say so. The song, however, is good—the fiddle-driven track suggests mxmtoon doesn’t hate everything about Texas, and beneath the wistful instrumentation she sings: “Got a couple of flaws to hide / I’m reclaiming my life because I know that it’s mine.”
Regarding the song, Maia said: “Working on ‘i hate texas’ felt like when I first started making music, like I was completely in my element. I felt inspired to get a little sarcastic and write a song with some kick to it, just as pure fun.”
The new track will be featured on an album that is set to be announced soon. In the meantime, check out “i hate texas” below.
