After a decade of EPs, singles, and collaborations, NYC-based songwriter and producer Tim Atlas finally unveiled his debut full-length collection of songs over the summer, with Enchanté serving as a culmination of the various artistic lanes Atlas has pursued over the years—from bedroom pop to alt-R&B to neo-soul. “With every project I put out, I try to show a little more of myself,” he shared upon the LP’s release back in May. “Enchanté is basically a reintroduction to me as a human and as an artist. For me, this record represents the different corners of my music that I haven’t showcased.”
Before he takes these songs on the road with him for a North American tour alongside Slenderbodies, Atlas set up his gear in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park for a “Neighborhoods” performance of the album track “Sushi in Wyoming.” Armed with little more than an acoustic guitar and a loop pedal, watch below as he slowly builds layers of percussive and strummed sound over which he displays his vocal range.
