ELUCID, rap’s most mercurial lyrical wizard, has announced that his new solo LP Revelator will arrive on October 11 via Fat Possum. First single “Instant Transfer” has the emcee teaming up with his Armand Hammer partner billy woods over a beat produced by Samiyam. The instrumental finds EL and woods rapping through sludge, spitting bars of vivid imagery and abstract odes alike over a shape-shifting groove. ELUCID warns opps not to cross him, rapping: “Sky roof, I’m an archer / Bow drawn, just watch / When it’s your time, it’s your time / You won’t hear no goodbyes.”
Regarding the cut, ELUCID shared that the track originated “in Los Angeles at The Alchemist’s studio about to catch a flight to Australia. With much momentum behind me/us and even more on the horizon, I knew a purpose. I knew every step was ordered to that purpose.”
