Geordie Greep, the singer/guitarist for Black Midi, caused quite a stir during a recent IG Live session when he wrote: “Black midi was an interesting band that’s indefinitely over.” Apparently, this was a decision that was not going to be announced by the band, but Greep did it, and here we are.
Now, Geordie Greep, solo artist, has shared “Holy Holy,” an introduction to his forthcoming debut solo album, The New Sound. The song sort of sounds like the scene in Dewey Cox when he performs with the massive orchestra, and also like Billy Joel being hired to lead a Frank Zappa cover band. And also like a Black Midi musical as written by Andrew Lloyd Webber. This is batshit insane, and it’s spectacular.
