At the beginning of the summer, we caught up with a rejuvenated-sounding Kacy Hill as she rolled out her latest LP, Bug. Following on the heels of two pandemic-era records that went widely overlooked, Hill explained how her latest project opted for a sense of playfulness over perfectionism as it pulled from the traditions of country music—both sonically and lyrically—for a blunter approach to her pop sound.
Laying low after a brief set of North American dates supporting Bug, Hill recently set up in a backyard in her hometown of Los Angeles for a clear-skied “Neighborhoods” session. Backed only by acoustic guitar, the songwriter gives a stirring vocal performance of the album cut “You Know I Love You Still.” Check it out below.
