Childish Gambino kicked off the week with a pair of vibrantly lit headlining sets at NYC’s Barclays Center. After canceling a Connecticut date over the weekend due to production issues, the rapper proved just how much the stage setup plays into his current “New World Tour”—with light sticks hanging from the ceiling that not only changed color but moved around the stage over the course of the night to form images, it was the perfect backdrop for Donald Glover’s electrifying set in which he played a mix of music from his new album Bando Stone & the New World and some older tunes, as well as a cover of Kaytranda’s “Witchy.” Additionally, Glover brought out Shaboozey at one point, with whom he performed “Dadvocate” for the song’s live debut.
Opening the evening was Willow, who performed her own mesmerizing set filled with bass-heavy beats and funky instrumentals that backed the pop star as her vocals commanded the room. Check out highlights from both sets courtesy of FLOOD photographer Skylar Watkins below.
