Girl Scout returned from an extensive UK/European tour alongside Alvvays last month, where both bands spent nearly two months playing sold-out gigs in support of LPs each respective artist released over the past two years. With that jaunt in the rearview, Girl Scout is getting back to business: Today they’ve announced a new EP titled Headache, with the explosive lead single “Honey” landing alongside the news. “Headache is aaaaaaaah!,” vocalist Emma Jansson expressed in a press statement. “That feeling. Straight-up hate and frustration. Feeling hurt and feeling funny about people. Feeling funny about life as a whole. Consider our gears ground (but in a funny way).”
Following the project’s November 8 release, they’ll be back on the road in the UK to support it in February, following a pair of dates this fall in their native Sweden. But today the group is looking back fondly on their time on the road with Alvvays, with a tour photo diary recapping the past couple months of gigs. “Touring with this gang was a dream come true,” shares Jansson of their recent travel companions. “Alvvays and their crew are absolute sweethearts, and we are so gracious and humbled by having been their opener.”

This is us (left to right: Per, Emma, Kevin, and Viktor)! Early morning departing from Manchester to Glasgow. Yes, the drive was long.
First morning of the tour, first gig with Alvvays in Bristol that night.
Tearing it up in Berlin. Absolutely amazing shot by @quyny.
Manchester. Moments later we realized we’d got the time wrong and had to run back to the venue to do our set.
Being the opener sometimes requires us to load out straight away after the gig. Glasgow was one of those shows. Van packed, a beer, sweet post-show comedown, and Alvvays opening with “Easy on Your Own?” leaking out the back door.
Let’s just say Bologna was hot.
Colby (right) does the visuals for Alvvays. He also stole our beers and cup noodles. What a jerk.
How could I not include this gorgeous photo?
Touring with this gang was a dream come true. Alvvays and their crew are absolute sweethearts, and we are so gracious and humbled by having been their opener. Still pinching myself!
…and likewise, to all the Alvvays fans we had the honor and pleasure to meet and play for!
