The Sam Gendel train keeps choo-chooing, and you better hop on before you get left behind. This time around, SG has recruited Los Angeles–based Benny Bock (a frequent collaborator) and Norwegian experimental artist Hans Kjorstad for the aptly titled Dream Trio LP. It’s kind of funny to name your trio “Dream Trio,” but after taking a listen to lead single “FallsLake,” they might be right?
On the album, Gendel plays the wind controller and soprano saxophone, Bock handles the udo synthesizer, and Kjorstad plays violin. The first track sounds like a circus hired three dudes to live score their show, but the players took a bunch of acid before the thing began and proceeded to ruin everyone’s night but their own.
Dream Trio will arrive on November 1 via the inimitable Leaving Records. In the meantime, check out “FallsLake” below.
