All aboard the minivan, because this fútbol papa is taking us straight to the new Soccer Mommy song, “Driver.” The latest cut from Sophie Allison will be featured on Evergreen, her sixth record which is out October 25 via Loma Vista Recordings. The driving (get it?), guitar-led track is four minutes of alt-rock explosives, with a clever pre-chorus that veers left before the more straightforward, anthemic chorus.
Regarding the track, Soccer Mommy said: “’Driver’ is a love song that’s really about someone being there for you in spite of your shortcomings. It’s more light hearted than some of the other songs I’ve put out this year, using my distractedness as a bit of a punchline.”
