The members of L7 have been a creative force in Los Angeles for nearly four decades, from their trail-blazing music (preceding the riot grrrl movement) to their political activism (co-founding the influential Rock for Choice benefit concert series in the ’90s). After a 15-year hiatus, the band reformed in 2016 and haven’t looked back since, but the vibrant underground scene they came up in is long gone. On November 23, the band is looking to rekindle some of that spirited community of the ’80s and ’90s, bringing along friends and comrades past and present for “a dynamic night of music and entertainment” on three stages at The Belasco in Downtown LA.

The event will be headlined by L7, naturally, along with fellow local legends Redd Kross, as well as Surfbort, The Paranoyds, Olivia Jean, ADULT., Babe Haven, Magic Castle magician Zabrecky (who fronted alt-rockers Possum Dixon in the ’90s), and more. “I’ve wanted to do a mini festival-like show for many years with artists from different genres but that all shared a certain chutzpah in common,” revealed L7's singer/guitarist Donita Sparks, who curated the event. “I felt there was a gap in the event world that was not servicing the underground, from which L7 came. This will be a fun show in the city that includes multiple stages, energetic bands, dancing, performance art, and style. And we are hoping that this will also be a big ass post-election celebration! So pace yourselves, party people, because we’re going all night!”
