Chappell Roan Drag Party

Who said festival season was over? This past weekend was one of the busiest festival weekends we can ever recall across the country, with Portola in San Francisco, Life Is Beautiful in Las Vegas, Ohana in Dana Point, Sound Side in Connecticut, South Star in Alabama, and not one, but two All Things Go events in New York City and DC. We’re still digging through thousands of images, but FLOOD photographers were on the grounds at all of them.

For All Things Go, the bigs news was the last-minute cancellation of Chappell Roan’s highly anticipated performances in both cities. But not to worry—the Chappell Roan Drag Party came to the rescue in NYC, while Philly rockers Mannequin Pussy also did their best to fill in: “For those of you who don’t know us, we’re Chappell Roan!” vocalist Marisa Dabice proclaimed when the band took the stage. Meanwhile, co-headliners MUNA delivered a festive cover of Roan’s “Good Luck, Babe!” during their set, which also saw Lucy Dacus joining them to perform “Silk Chiffon.” MUNA’s Katie Gavin was also a surprise guest during Holly Humberstone’s performance for their collaborative single “Into Your Room.”

Other highlights included the Resistance Revival Chorus and Towa Bird performing with Reneé Rapp, spotting Dacus and Phoebe Bridgers supporting their boygenius bandmate Julien Baker on the sidelines during her riveting set, and Janelle Monáe’s non-stop party for her festival-closing set. While taking in the festivities, there was also much concern for those reeling from the devastating damage of Hurricane Helene. Festival performer and Asheville, North Carolina native Indigo De Souza shared that her home was destroyed in the aftermath. If you can help, she’s working to help raise funds via her Instagram to support those affected in her community.
