Launched in 2022, Portola Music Festival is evolving into one of the most unique and tastefully curated dance-centric music festivals (props to fest founder and recent FLOOD FM “Hacked” host Danny Bell). Once again hosted at Pier 80 on the waterfront in San Francisco, this year’s lineup built on that promise with a diverse schedule stacked with progressive electronic music titans (Justice, RÜFÜS DU SOL, Disclosure) and dance-friendly fringe artists across genres (JPEGMAFIA, Peaches, Jessie Ware)—in addition to the return of hometown heroes Deltron 3030 and the spectacle that is horsegiirL.
While Saturday was cold with only brief patches of sunlight, Sunday was sunny and warm all day and night. With the fest’s iconic chicken mascot overlooking the proceedings, photographer Wilson Lee—who also documented years one and two for FLOOD—took it all in to capture highlights from both days.
