After becoming a scene staple in Brooklyn with his bands Cosmonaut and Spires in the 2010s, Jack Manley shifted his attention to a new project called The Jennifer Shop which never quite took off due to the imminent arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic. The silver lining, then, is that Manley was able to assemble a dream-team of collaborators in the aftermath of quarantine upon returning home to Kingston, New York, where he reconnected with childhood friend/classical guitarist Billy Pearson and met a handful of new collaborators—including Kingston native and current Coheed and Cambria drummer Josh Eppard, who performed percussion duties on the band’s first EP.

Following the release of Unmeasurable Terms, Manley is bringing three of its four songs—“Save Your Own,” “Smack Water,” and “Tightrope Life”—to life with a “Neighborhoods” performance set upstate in Kingston. Situated alongside Pearson, both guitarists imbue the trio of songs with a folky, ramshackle passion as Manley delivers lyrics about addiction and recovery. Check out the performance below, and if you’re in NYC, catch Manley at Berlin on November 20. More info here.
