Sorry are back with their new single “Waxwing,” which arrives just a month before the London group is set to tour the UK and Ireland with Fontaines D.C. The slow-burning, electro-infused cut features slinking drums and sultry vocals from Asha Lorenz that rather creepily interpolate lyrics from Toni Basil’s “Hey Mickey.”

The video, which you should not watch before trying to fall asleep, is equally...fascinating. Regarding the song, Lorenz said: “Mickey is desire? Mickey is the bomb? Mickey makes me money? Mickey makes my songs? Mickey makes a poem? Mickey in the drugs? Mickey is liar? Mickey making love? Mickey is desire?”

I am not sure! Decide for yourself, I guess. Check out the video for “Waxwing” below, and view the band’s tour dates here. You can also revisit our 2022 interview with the band here.
