MIKE has returned with another new single, “Pieces of a Dream.” Since his last full-length arrived waaay back in March (Pinball with Wiki and Tony Seltzer), he’s a few months overdue for new music. Hence “Pieces of a Dream.” Crisis averted. The new track’s beat consists of little outside a melodic bass line and twinkling sample, with shuffling drums giving MIKE’s restrained flow the little boost it needs. He seems to be telling the tale of us bloggers when he spits: “This life get cold and wet, now I know that the rain ain’t done / God hopin’ that payday come, can’t afford to bеtray your trust.” Does the Big Guy Upstairs know about Net-30? Net-60??
