No, it’s not my momma; nor, I would guess, is it yours—but Brooklyn’s Momma is back with a new single called “Ohio All the Time.” Look, I love Cincinnati as much as the next guy, but all the time? That sounds like a little much, though the new single might have me convinced. The unabashed rocker explodes with massive guitars before vocalists Etta Friedman and Allegra Weingarten sing of getting dizzier when outside, snapping pictures before night’s end, and running ’n’ gunning toward someone. The chorus features a crucial tambourine accent, as all good songs do.
“We wrote it about a summer when we were on tour, and it felt like everything in our lives changed within a one-month span,” the band shared before introducing the new track’s music video. “We wanted the video to capture that youthful feeling, like the world is brand new and everything is ahead of you. We went upstate to our friend’s house near Hudson to film, and just spent the whole day goofing off and running around.”
The band is gearing up to support beabadoobee on a set of November UK tour dates, which you can check out here. Watch “Ohio All the Time” below.
