The 4K remastered version of Daft Punk and Leiji Matsumoto’s 2003 sci-fi anime musical film Interstella 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem will hit select theaters for one night only across the globe on December 12. The early Christmas treat will arrive in cinemas in collaboration with Trafalgar Releasing. “This is a rare opportunity to experience the film on the big screen, along with accompanying Daft Punk music videos, and we can’t wait to share it with audiences everywhere,” shared the company’s CEO Marc Allenby in a press statement.

Given that the film doubles as a visual companion to Daft Punk’s 2001 album Discovery, the remastered version will coincide with a new, limited-edition version of the record titled Discovery: Interstella 5555 Edition. You can learn more about the release on Daft Punk’s official website, and find more information on the film screening here.
