Say goodbye to the calliope. On August 21, Sigur Ros bassist Georg Holm and drummer Orri Páll Dýrason will release Circe, a 72-minute suite of music set to archival footage of circuses, carnivals, and vaudeville performances. The music was created in conjunction with the BBC’s The Show of Shows, a forthcoming documentary about the history of the circus, and also features Icelandic composer Hilmar Örn Hilmarsson and Georg’s brother Kjartan Holm (who is also Sigur Ros’ touring guitarist). The South Iceland Chamber Choir also makes an appearance. Watch the trailer for The Show of Shows and see Circe‘s cover below.

Circe is out August 21 on Krunk.

The Show of Shows will premiere in 2016 on BBC.
