Emerging with what Patrick Bateman would call “a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost,” The Helio Sequence returned triumphant this spring behind their sixth (and possibly best) album, simply titled The Helio Sequence.
Visually speaking, the album release has been just as compelling (see: the “Upward Mobility” video), and to add to that, we now have a beautiful video for the opener “Battle Lines.” As he did for “Upward Mobility,” the video was animated by Emanuele Kabu, except this time he was helped with direction from Robin Washburn, who is channeling the “Accidents Will Happen” video in a very excellent way.
Or, to quote Bateman again, “[They’ve] been compared to Elvis Costello…”
