Known throughout indie circles for her work with Drugdealer, Sedona has announced that she’s releasing a solo album after sharing a slew of singles over the years. Getting Into Heaven is set to arrive on May 23 and is preceded by the newly released cut “Best Kept Secret.” The acoustic guitar–driven track slowly warms up with an array of instruments as Sedona sings the song’s title with power and enthusiasm—suggesting it might not be such a secret after all. Per usual, big fan of the pedal steel here. Good shit.

Regarding the track, Sedona said: “Music has always been the world’s most honest mirror—revealing us to ourselves. Today, songs often feel rushed, much like our way of living. We’re constantly scrolling and moving without actually connecting. I’m trying to slow down and hang out for a while. I wanna drink a strawberry milkshake on a friend’s porch and listen to the radio…to sit down and stay a while. We should practice speaking from the heart. That’s what ‘Best Kept Secret’ is all about—those small, freeing moments, like washing someone-you-love’s face in the morning sun.”

Check out the video for “Best Kept Secret” directed by Angela Ricciardi and Payton Newcomer below. Additionally, Sedona sent us some BTS photos from the track’s video shoot taken by the visual’s production designer Pamela De Freitas, which you can also see below.
