Big Thief have offered up Passional Relations, a five-song EP of previously unreleased recordings in support of fire relief in Los Angeles. The majority of the proceeds will be donated to the Plus1LA Fires Fund, which directly supports organizations working on the ground to address needs like housing, education, animal welfare, and more. The rest will go to local musicians, artists, and community members who need support during this time.

Passional Relations is largely comprised of songs recorded by the band during their Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You sessions, including an alternate version of “Zombie Girl” which ultimately landed on Adrianne Lenker’s 2020 solo LP Songs. Closing demo track “Shadow Too,” however, was recorded in 2018 in Topanga before the band began work on their 2019 albums UFOF and Two Hands.
