The Weakerthans, the inimitable indie-rock band from Winnipeg, have apparently called it quits. As Stereogum points out, the band’s drummer, Justin Tait, posted the following on Twitter yesterday afternoon:

The band had not released an album since Reunion Tour in 2007, and they hadn’t played a show in the past couple of years. Nevertheless, it’s a sad day for fans of the band, who best-captured a fated sense of failure in their ode to their hometown, “One Great City!” Give it a listen below.
