Maybe you were surprised to hear the poppy new FIDLAR song “40oz. On Repeat” last month, but as if to offer a little perspective, the latest single, which is just as catchy and radio friendly (whatever the hell that means nowadays), actually dates back to the earliest days of the band.
In its original form, “West Coast” was a bare-bones Black Lips-y track that appeared on the band’s 2012 demo EP Shit We Recorded In Our Bedroom, and was a subsequent live favorite over the last few years; kind of like a Generation Y version of “Fire on the Mountain” (just roll with it, OK?). And like The Dead, FIDLAR has decided to not hold out forever on a studio version of the beloved track. Below, you can check out the new version of the track along with a compiled tour footage music video.
Too is out September 4 on Mom + Pop Music.
