Confidence Man’s M3F Pre-Fest Playlist

Before they hit Phoenix this weekend for the annual non-profit event, the Australian duo (who are also set to play FLOODfest SXSW next week) shares their current favorite electronic tunes.

Since 2018, London-via-Brisbane duo Confidence Man have been unavoidable within certain corners of pop music, their sound evolving from a blend of nu-disco and dance-punk invoking the late-aughts indie scene to more recent left-field experiments in acid house, Italo disco, and trance music on last October’s 3AM (La La La) LP. Both eras of the project, though, have been perfect fits for indie- and electronica-centric music festivals such as Phoenix’s long-running non-profit event M3F, which is celebrating its 22nd year this weekend.

Embellishing a lineup featuring headlining sets from LCD Soundsystem, Justice, Sylvan Esso, and Alvvays, Confidence Man are certain to inject an invigorating Eurodance element to the proceedings. But before their performance, they’re sharing a playlist of songs they currently have on repeat which get them in the proper headspace to tear up the stage. Check that out below, and find tickets to the event—which donates 100 percent of proceeds to local charities—here. Additionally, Confidence Man will be hitting the FLOODfest stage at SXSW next Friday—RSVP for our free event here

Last Minute, “Future Funk”
Been loving playing this tune out recently—love the laser gun sounds in it.

Wallace, “Willow”
Been loving all his releases so far!

Roach Motel, “Wild Luv”
Great little chugger full of percussion—works great in a club.

Whitemary, “Un’esercitazione”
Only heard this one last week—super cool vocal and nice and strange.

Zombie Nation, “Tight”
A classic—dramatic chords and love the chops in it.

Paleface, “Do You Mind” (Crazy Cousinz remix)
Another classic—never realized this was a sample until a friend showed me last week!

Jex Opolis, “Waste of Time”
Love everything Jex does. Really cool hearing him play around with vocals, too.

Fcukers, “Mothers”
Love these guys, and this track works everywhere.

Decius, “Queen of 14th Street”
Another new find for me—I’m into all the projects these guys are involved in. Again, a super cool vocal.

CC:DISCO!, “Touch the Vibe”
Super pretty, chuggy number from our girl CC!

Towa Tei feat. Kylie Minogue, “GBI”
Don’t know how most people don’t know this one! One-third of Deelite and Kylie—what’s not to love?

Ciutat, “Eterno (Mientras Dure)”
Track one from their new record from late last year—super pretty late-night kick-on music.

OSSX, “Split Wig”
Have loved this one for the past few years. Breaks and a few lovely samples.

Special Touch, “Garden of Life”
A dreamy chillout track to wind it up.
