After several decades spent playing with Pixies, The Breeders, and The Amps, Kim Deal unveiled her debut solo album, Nobody Loves You More, late last year, and just wrapped up a string of live dates on the West Coast in support of the record this past week. At the Belasco in Downtown Los Angeles on Thursday night, Deal performed the album in its entirety along with her touring 10-piece ensemble, complete with strings and horns. She acknowledged that some of the album’s tracks were recorded without horns or strings, but the instruments were added to the arrangements for the tour so they weren’t all “just standing there, doin’ nothing.”

LA-based songwriter Morgan Nagler opened the West Coast dates, and joined Deal on a pair of songs for the first encore (“The Root,” “Range on Castle”), while the final encore ended with The Breeders’ classics “Off You” and “Do You Love Me Now?”
