When he’s not performing with the rowdy alt-hip-hop nonet NOFUN!, LA-via-Dublin musician Levi Evans has established himself as an equally shape-shifting solo artist over the past four years with a steady stream of singles dating back to 2021. The latest of which, “Lay Me by Your Side,” dropped at the beginning of April, an upbeat, genre-blurring cut about relationship struggles and their ultimate payoff. “‘Lay Me By Your Side’ echoes with the swells of conflict and the embrace of resolution,” he shared upon the song’s release. “It tells the tale of enduring the storms within a relationship, where through struggle, love is tempered and strengthened. Bonds forged in hardship last through the ages.”
Evans recently took to his backyard in Los Angeles to perform the track for “Neighborhoods.” Slowed down and performed solo on guitar, the track takes on a slightly more earnest and heartfelt tone as an acoustic ballad. Check it out below.
