It’s been four years since Here We Go Magic released the Nigel Godrich-produced A Different Ship. Now, the New York group have announced Be Small, which leader Luke Temple describes as “overtly major and optimistic” in a statement. Be Small was recorded and mixed by the band, who took influence from the interlocking grooves of Brian Eno and John Cale’s 1990 album Wrong Way Up.

The group has also released a music video for “Falling,” the album’s lead single. The track is a thrilling pocket suite that begins with stuttering pulses and vocals reminiscent of Low-era Bowie, shifts into a carnivalesque rave-up, and suddenly drops into Temple singing alone in a heavily reverbed chant. Give it a listen below, then check out Be Small‘s track listing and catch Here We Go Magic on tour.
