It’s Spacey Jane week here at FLOOD, with the Australian indie-rock band not only taking over FLOOD FM’s airwaves in anticipation of the group’s new album If That Makes Sense (out next week), but also beaming in for an appearance on our “Neighborhoods” video performance series. During a recent visit to LA, the band settled in Echo Park to play through two singles from the forthcoming LP, “All the Noise” and “How to Kill Houseplants.”
After a brief bout of evident amnesia (“We’re Creed and this is Tiny Desk,” frontman Caleb Harper says to intro the performance), vocalist/guitarist Harper along with guitarist Ashton Hardman-Le Cornu and backing vocalist/crocheter Peppa Lane switch gears and dive into the two-song set. “This was a really nice morning,” Harper recalls. “It’s always good to sit around a few giant cacti in the middle of Echo Park—makes you feel like a real Angeleno. Ashton’s hand was attacked by one of them, but I think he’s recovered by now.”
Check out the full performance (sans any cactus-incited violence) below.
