SASAMI has teamed up with Sounds of Saving and the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline for a new episode of their “Song That Found Me at the Right Time” series. Sasami Ashworth recorded a cover version of Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ “Maps,” which helped her discuss the relationship between music and mental health. “I feel so lucky to have an art practice that allows me to go deep and process my emotional highs and lows,” SASAMI explained. “I’m honored that SoS and 988 asked me to be involved—their work is so important.”

The performance video was directed by filmmaker Rita Baghdadi—check that out below. If you or someone you know is facing mental health challenges, emotional distress, or alcohol/drug use concerns, or just need someone to talk to, text or call 988 or chat 988lifeline.org 24/7.
