Keith Richards’ best songs have always been Stones tracks, but he’s dabbled in the solo world previously, sometimes with success, sometimes without. After 1992’s Main Offender, he mostly hung up the enterprise, but after twenty-three years, Keef has decided to give it another shot with Crosseyed Heart, a fresh batch of original recordings (and a Leadbelly cover) set for a September 18 release via Republic Records.

The first track from that album is “Trouble,” a pretty straightforward blues-rock number that has just enough Exile on Main St. vibes to it to make it enjoyable. Morgan Neville, who won the Best Documentary Oscar for Twenty Feet from Stardom, directed the sleek music video for the song (available to watch over at Apple Music), and has just been announced as the director of Keith Richards: Under the Influence, a surprise Netflix documentary that will air on the same day that the album drops. A fitting celebration for one of the world’s most inexplicably alive (and greatest) rock stars.
