MAVI has recruited Earl Sweatshirt for a new single entitled “Landgrab,” which features production from frequent Jack Harlow collaborator Hollywood Cole. The duo pack a helluva punch in the song’s minute 30 run time, with Earl dropping his first reference to Michael Olowokandi only eight seconds after MAVI kicks off the back-and-forth bars. Truly impressive speed off the blocks from Mr. Sweatshirt.
The song marks their second collaboration, following the Ovrkast.-produced “El Toro Combo Meal” from Earl’s 2019 EP Feet of Clay. The track is supposedly signaling a new era for MAVI, who last released an album with 2024’s Shadowbox. Stay tuned for new music from the North Carolina wordsmith.
