Launched in 2023, Fire Talk imprint Angel Tapes is quickly gaining traction as an incubator for young talent within the same realms of dream-pop, post-punk, and indie rock that their parent label has been propping up since 2009. Last week, the label put their potential on full display with a showcase in NYC that gathered two of their biggest draws—Brooklyn’s Shower Curtain and LA’s Jawdropped—alongside their peers in Bedridden and DJ sets from Computerwife and Fantasy of a Broken Heart.
With the former Angel Tapes band celebrating the release of their newly expanded debut album Words From a Wishing Well, and the latter band playing tunes from last month’s Just Fantasy EP, we had both groups document their afternoon together. Check out the pics they sent us below.
