It’s hard to think of a song title that does as bad a job of expressing the feeling of the song itself than Slime‘s “Hot Dog.” The Paris-based producer (né Will Archer) slides a muffled backbeat under a patch of late-night horns and a distant vocal sample, making textural dance music that’s mature and sophisticated in the ways you might assume electronic music from Paris would be. Whatever a hot dog sounds like, it probably isn’t this.
And yet, here we have the first video from Company, Archer’s August 14 debut on Weird World, in which he doubles down on the whole thing and sets a pretty bummed-out looking hot dog on a country ramble. Grab some mustard and take a look below.
