Dev Hynes’ Blood Orange project has returned with “The Field,” the first new song from Hynes’ musical moniker in three years. The track features contributions from Caroline Polachek, Daniel Caesar, The Durutti Column, composer Tariq Al-Sabir, and songwriter Eva Tolkin, and it arrives with a video directed by Hynes himself. Warm piano chords jut up against a sped up drum groove, with interludes of string suites woven in throughout.
Apparently more music from Hynes is on the way soon, but in the meantime, he’ll be opening shows for Lorde and Turnstile (he appeared on the new albums from both artists) this fall. Check out “The Field” below.
