Abel Tesfaye has been nearly everywhere over the past three years, materializing not only on another blockbuster album as The Weeknd earlier this year, but also on movie theater marquees and the featured carousel of a major streaming platform—not to mention continuing to break streaming records and generating countless headlines (he was retiring the “Weeknd” moniker for a moment, until, actually, maybe he wasn’t). One place he hasn’t been, though, is the stage, as Tesfaye stepped away from live performances back in 2022 after losing his voice during the first leg of his stadium tour for After Hours and Dawn FM.

Yet The Weeknd is now returning to the precise stage where this incident took place three years ago with a four-night, sold-out stint at Inglewood, California’s SoFi Stadium. The evening opened with a set by Playboi Carti and a special appearance from Travis Scott, who joined in on the duo’s joint hits such as  “Crush” and “Fein.” Afterward, The Weeknd lit up the crowd with a dazzling stage setup and costume designs over the course of two hours as he tapped into his arsenal of hits.
