Last week, Lucy Dacus put out an open call to her fans on social media offering them the opportunity to tie the knot during her summer tour in support of Forever Is a Feeling. The songwriter and ordained officiant has made good on the promise: at a recent show in Philadelphia she officiated ceremonies for three different couples at her gig.
Before performing “Best Guess” on July 25, Dacus said: “I don’t know if you saw me posting about weddings. This is the first night we’re gonna try something, and, uh, we’ll see how it goes.” As Dacus and her band begins the song, couples emerged on stage and began dancing with their partners. Dacus legally married them in a group ceremony while holding a bouquet of red roses.
