Laufey has shared a music video for her new single “Lover Girl,” which is set to be featured on her forthcoming album A Matter of Time. The new track features a playful bossanova groove and handclap accents, and it finds Laufey rueing her new status reflected in the song’s title as she sings: “I’m in a reckless fever, love-struck girl, I’d tease her / Thought I’d never be her / Quite the job you’ve done on me, sir / You’ve been hosting parties in my mind / I’m working overtime to have you in my world / Oh, what a curse it is to be a lover girl.”
Back in May, Laufey confirmed a tour in support of the upcoming album, which arrives August 22 via AWAL. The set of dates will begin in September and will find the songwriter performing at arenas in LA, NYC, Nashville, Boston, DC, and more, in addition to a stop at Red Rocks Amphitheatre outside Denver. Suki Waterhouse will support on all dates.
