Marvel‘s chatty antihero Deadpool is getting his own feature-length film in 2016, and yesterday, the world got its first sneak peak at the film when the debut (and red band) trailer premiered on Conan.
Ryan Reynolds, who played the foul-mouthed mercenary in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, will reprise his role for the new film, which explores Deadpool’s origin story as an experimented-upon cancer patient.
As shown in the trailer below, the experiments give him the ability to heal rapidly, but also leave him physically disfigured, looking, in his own words, “like a testicle with teeth.”
Deadpool is Tim Miller‘s directorial debut, and also stars Silicon Valley‘s T. J. Miller and Homeland‘s Morena Baccarin.
The film hits theaters February 12, 2016.
