Despite his earlier resistance, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Bill Murray will play a part in Paul Feig’s upcoming Ghostbusters reboot.
The actor who played Dr. Peter Venkman in the original film and its sequel will join the new all-female team of paranormal policeman composed of Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon.
Fellow OG ghostbuster Dan Aykroyd is rumored to be making a cameo as a cab driver in the film and tweeted about being on set with Wiig earlier this summer.
There’s no word yet on the nature of Murray’s role—whether he will once again don a proton tank or simply have a brief cameo like Aykroyd’s—but we’ll find out when Ghostbusters 3 hits the big screen next summer.
