It all went down on August 28, 2009. After more than 15 years of infamous public feuds and internal strife, Oasis’ Noel and Liam Gallagher finally parted ways following a backstage blow-up at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris. Noel claimed Liam was “wielding a guitar like an axe,” which marked the final straw for the brother. “It’s with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight,” Noel said in a statement released at the time. “People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.”

Who could have imagined that 16 years later, their reconciliation would spark one of the greatest rock reunions of all time—bringing an unprecedented wave of joy to hundreds of thousands of fans, old and new, across the globe? For die-hards who didn’t make the trek to the sold-out shows across the pond that kicked off in July—including five nights at Wembley in London (with two more later this month)—the FOMO was seriously setting in, driving anticipation for their North American dates in Toronto, New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles.

With the wait finally over, the group remarkably lived up to the hype, delivering wildly well-received shows in each city. The band sounds as good as they did in their peak, with Liam’s voice in top form while bringing a similar set list in each market packed with all the hits. Photographers Harriet Kols and Joshua Halling have been on the road with the band of brothers—backed by Bonehead, Gem Archer, Ride’s Andy Bell, and Joey Waronker—throughout the dates, without even a minor squabble between Noel and Liam in sight.
