Wisp has brought her shoegaze POV to an unexpected source, offering up a cover of Coldplay’s “Yellow.” I am trying and failing to tie this news into a bit about the Astronomer CEO. My apologies.

Wisp’s cover sounds pretty much exactly like what you’d expect a Wisp version of Parachutes-era Coldplay to sound like, featuring acoustic guitar, hushed vocals, and synths that wash over the entire composition. The chorus is a fairly faithful rendition of the original, though the post-chorus breakdown goes quite hard in this new version.

“‘Yellow’ to me is a childhood memory that I wanted to rendition into my present life,” Wisp shared. “A song that I never understood the depth of, to now relating to the lyrics and singing them with the emotion of my romantic journeys this past year.”

Check out Wisp’s version of “Yellow“ below.
