This Saturday marks the 20th anniversary of New York alt-rock outfit Coheed and Cambria’s epic prog-opera achievement Good Apollo I’m Burning Star IV: Volume One: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness. And while that’s plenty of reason to celebrate, the band is still trekking across the country to promote their eleventh and latest album, Vaxis: Act III – The Father of Make Believe, released at the beginning of 2025.
The focus of their recent show at Atlanta’s Coca-Cola Roxy may have been their newer material, but a sense of nostalgia permeated the venue as Coheed shared the stage with their 2000s alt-rock peers Taking Back Sunday. Not only that, but Coheed’s encore included a rousing performance of their 2005 smash-hit single “Welcome Home” as well as a cover of The Killers’ “Mr. Brightside.”
FLOOD photographer Donny Evans got backstage access to the show, capturing photos of Coheed and Cambria (and, briefly, a photobombing TBS frontman Adam Lazzara) before they took the stage. Check out Evans’ photos and the band’s captions below.
