In 2026, Cat Power’s The Greatest will turn 20 years old. In dog years, that’s 140. I’m not sure about cat years. Anywho, to celebrate the milestone, the artist also known as Chan Marshall will release Redux, a three-song 10-inch vinyl on January 23 via Domino (it will also be available digitally). The EP includes a cover of the James Brown track “Try Me,” which is out now, as well as a re-recorded version of The Greatest cut “Could We” and Marshall’ take on Prince’s “Nothing Compares 2 U,” which was recorded in honor of the late guitarist Teenie Hodges, a member of The Memphis Rhythm Band that backed Cat Power on The Greatest.
Additionally, Cat Power will be hitting the road in 2026 to perform The Greatest in its entirety across North America. The run will begin on February 12 in Houston. Check out the full list of tour dates and listen to “Try Me” below, and pre-order Redux here.
