Sylvan Esso have shared “Keep On,” the B-side to their recent exclusive-to-everywhere-but-Spotify single “WDID.” The song is a six-minute, shapeshifting epic that plays with elements of electronic dance music, jazz, pop, and folk. The bones of the track were excavated during a week of improvisation with bassist Daniel Aged and drummer TJ Maiani in 2023. The vocal line, which notably consists of a loop of “Keep on fucking at the end of the world, yeah,” was recorded by the band’s Amelia Meath in January while the duo was in Los Angeles working on new music.
The single comes alongside a music video made in collaboration with Stewart Owen Dance Company and directed by Josh Finck. Check that out below, and pre-order the 12-inch of both singles (which will be released on January 9) here.
