WATCH: Cast Out with Ne-Hi in Video for the Jangly “Turncoat”

They’ll be reeling in a new album sometime next year.

After releasing their self-titled debut last year, Chicago’s Ne-Hi have been quietly generating buzz for what’s coming next, particularly after the single “Drag” made its case to be the sleeper hit of the summer. Via Noisey today, the power-pop quartet have shared a bit more of what’s up next with a video for their new single “Turncoat.”

Seeming to exist within the same universe as Title Fight’s recent video for “Chlorine,” the journey depicted in the “Turncoat” video takes place on water, and follows an unlikely protagonist as he has a better day than yours. Musically, the song is more relaxed than “Drag,” and finds Ne-Hi embracing their jangle roots—think of it like a companion piece to “Harborcoat.”
