The brand new Rock Lottery, a benefit event set to serve LA’s Young Musicians Foundation, has sold out its January 10 gig at the also-new Sid the Cat Auditorium in South Pasadena. What, exactly, is the Rock Lottery, you ask? On the morning of January 10, a group of volunteer musicians—including Wisp, Tim Heidecker, Eyedress, Duckwrth, Wallice, and Brad Oberhofer, as well as members of Wallows, Militarie Gun, The Linda Lindas, Bratmobile, The Walkmen, and Girlpool—will be involved in a lottery that pairs them together into new bands. Then, they have 12 hours to write new material that they’ll be performing in front of an audience later that night.
