Lillie West has announced a new album under her Lala Lala moniker, which is great news for all of us Lala heads. Heaven 2, West’s first album for Sub Pop, will arrive on February 27. Following the October release of “Does This Go Faster?,” two more singles have arrived today. “Heaven2” is a haunting, vocal-and-synth exercise that slowly morphs into a dazzling and funky R&B slow jam. “Even Mountains Erode” builds off a shuffling trip-hop-inspired drum groove and powerful piano chords that give the track its melodic force.
The album was co-produced by West and Jay Som’s Melina Duterte. The duo also handled most of the instruments, alongside help from a few guests including Sen Morimoto, Macie Stewart, and Porches’ Aaron Maine. Check out both “Heaven2” and “Even Mountains Erode” below, and pre-order Heaven 2 here.
