Petite Noir—the half-Angolan, half-Congolese artist whose polyrhythmic sadness we’ve already encountered in the videos for “Down” and “Best”—has released a third track from his forthcoming debut LP, La Vie Est Belle / Life is Beautiful. “MDR” follows the pattern set by the early singles: Yannick Ilunga spreads his croon like satin sheet over a hard, shuffling beat with a graceful power that recalls Morrissey at his most maudlin and Jamie xx at his most brooding. Give it a listen below.

La Vie Est Belle / Life is Beautiful is out September 11 on Domino.
